Donna Butler

Donna is an Integrative psychotherapist, having trained at  Brighton University and the Institute for Arts in Therapy and Education in London, where she gained her Masters in Psychotherapy. She has an integrated approach to her work and her main influences are: Rogerian, Psychodynamic, Object Relations and Jungian. Donna sees the huge benefit of working with the Arts as a link to the unconscious. This gives a means of expression where words sometimes cannot be found. She also uses Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) in her work with trauma, stress and pain control.

Donna has 20 years experience working in the Health Service, originally as a RN, and spent 16 years in the area of acute emergency services. Eight of those years she supported patients, relatives and staff following trauma, stress and bereavements.She has been working in private practice and currently manages a therapy service for staff in the NHS.

Donna is experienced in individual, couple, and group work. this experience offers itself to clients having difficulties with: relationship problems, bereavements, trauma, anxiety, depression, and other life changing events.

Donna is a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) , United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP)and is bound by their ethical framework for good practice.
